This contract includes voice, data, fixed wireless solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), and mobility management solutions, enhancing mission-critical communications and network solutions for military and federal civilian agencies. T-Mobile’s offerings have significantly expanded since the previous Spiral 3 contract, now including 5G and hybrid networks tailored to government needs. T-Mobile also introduced “Government Internet,” a 5G mobile device for primary or backup internet connectivity. Future plans include leveraging T-Mobile’s partnership with SpaceX for near-universal connectivity through Starlink satellites. Meanwhile, Verizon Public Sector continues its strong presence with the DoD, securing contracts like a $15 million task order with Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) and a $28.35 million contract for integrated voice and data services. Verizon also won a $2 billion, 15-year contract with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for their next-generation communications platform.

The U.S. Department of the Navy has chosen T-Mobile US as a provider of mobile solutions as part of the$ 2.67 billion Spiraling 4 contract, according to a release.
The carrier noted that T-Mobile US will be able to place orders for mobile services and equipment from the new contract for the next ten years, giving it to all Department of Defense agencies.
The contract covers voice, data, fixed wireless solutions, Internet of Things ( IoT ) and mobility management solutions, T-Mobile said, and it will help ensure reliable connectivity for government activities including mission critical communications, as well as network solutions that serve military personnel and federal civilian agencies.
The contract replaces the earlier iteration, Spiral 3, in response to changes in industry standards and technological advancements, the U. S. carrier added. T-Mobile reported that since Circular 3 was introduced in 2017 it has significantly expanded its line of services for government operations, including 5G personal and hybrid networks that are tailored to the performance requirements of government agencies.
T-Mobile US noted that it has also developed” Government Internet,” a 5G set mobile device that can serve as a primary internet connection or provide unrestricted backup. In the future, the carrier said that government agencies could leverage T-Mobile’s partnership with SpaceX, which aims to merge T- Mobile’s network with Starlink’s satellite capabilities with the goal to provide near- general connectivity.
Verizon Secures $15M Navy MWR Task Order Under EIS for Advanced Voice and Data Services
In December 2023, Verizon Public Sector had won a $15 million task order with Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation ( MWR ) through the federal government’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions ( EIS ) contract vehicle. The carrier will provide voice and data services at both local and international locations in accordance with the task order.
The EIS was award in two components: voice and data. More specifically, Verizon said it will incorporate new technologies and services to support advanced voice requirements, as well as modernize data services, which includes a transition from the Navy’s Time Division Multiplexing ( TDM) voice platform to ethernet.
Verizon has been awarded many contracts with the U. S. national government. For instance, the U.S. Department of Defense ( DoD ) recently signed a $28.35 million contract with Verizon Public Sector that involved providing integrated voice and data services to the Atlantic Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station. More recently, Verizon secured a more than$ 2 billion, 15- year critical infrastructure contract with the Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ) to design, build, operate and maintain the FAA’s next- generation communications platform.
